The World Wide Prayer Group of Our Lady of Emmitsburg is currently being set up as a prayer group whose participants pray privately for the intercession of Our Lady of Emmitsburg throughout the month. On the 1st Sunday of each month, around 3:PM, U.S. EST*, joining with participants all over the world, in the privacy of their own homes, members will come together in prayer, forming a living world wide heart of prayer in unity with the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
* For those who cannot pray at 3:00 U.S. EST, please pray at anytime on the 1st Sunday of the month, with the intention of solidarity with the prayer group.
The World Wide Prayer Group of Our Lady of Emmitsburg centers on the Rosary with the addition of a reflection of a message given previously by Our Lady of Emmitsburg**. A reflection on one of Our Lady's previous messages should occur during the Fourth Mystery, after the Lord's Prayer, and after the first 5 Hail Mary's are said. This is done to represent the occurrence of the apparitions to Gianna Talone Sullivan, during the Public Marian Prayer Group meeting. See "Rosary Reflection Suggestions" below.
**Our Lady of Emmitsburg's messages reside in the public domain and are accessible and free to everyone with Internet access . But, because these messages are numerous, capable of filling volumes, suggestions of prayerfully selected messages will be offered, for those who may not have the time for a search. Therefore, a message will be posted on this site, in an effort to make things easier for members.
Some suggestions on a format for the World Wide Prayer Group of Our Lady of Emmitsburg As stated, the only requirement necessary for the private prayer group are those mentioned above. However, if more time in prayer is sought, the following elements may be added.
* An opening prayer or hymn to the Holy Spirit, * The Rosary, with the addition of a reflection on a previous message given by Our Lady of Emmitsburg, as stated above, * The Litany of Our Lady of Emmitsburg (will be posted here very soon) * The singing of a Marian hymn * Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary * A period of still and silent listening * A commitment to take some action through the rest of the month, based on the message or subsequent reflections. * The singing of an appropriate hymn of praise; for example, Holy God We Praise Thy Name.

For Example, Did you participated by yourself, with prayer partner, with your family or a group? Did you use the materials we provided? If "yes" were they useful, were the directions easy to understand? Did you add anything extra to your Prayer Group, eg., hymns/music playing softly in the back ground, blessed candles etc.? Did you add any visual elements, eg., open Bible on a table, statue of our Lady, candle, or a seasonal decoration etc.?
A short note would be great. We are very down-to-earth people, so please do not feel you need to write anything fancy. Anything that you can start and finish in a few moments would be ideal.
In addition, we are in the process of constructing a method of communication that will enable people to be quickly informed of news in the developing story of Our Lady of Emmitsburg.
