The World Wide Prayer Group of Our Lady of Emmitsburg In honor of God, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart
We have prepared two versions of printable “Prayer Group” documents for those who would like to make a copy, or for those who are disseminating information of Our Lady of Emmitsburg. There is the “Full Page” version and the “Pamphlet”.
The “Full Page” version is a document that prints out on regular 8.5 x 11 copy paper. Simply click the PDF below and after it pops up, select “print” on your computer.
For those who like the idea of a pamphlet rather than full size papers, choose “Pamphlet” version. A 24lb weight paper is recommended. This can be purchased most places where copy paper is sold. There are two ways to print out the pamphlets.
The “Pamphlet/Copy machine” version will allow you to print ALL pages with one side of text and one blank side. Once the first copy has been printed, which can be used as a master copy, bring all the pages to a copy machine or store with copy service, such as Staples etc. 1. Click PDF 2. Click “print” on your computer 3. Click “Properties” 4. Find “picture orientation” 5. Choose “landscape” 6. Click “OK” If using a copy center, bring the pages to the center asking the copy technician to collate the pages in order to make a pamphlet, with text on both sides. If using your own copy machine; place pages “1” and “2” together with blank sheets touching one another on the inside. Do the same for pages “3” and “4” and then “5” and “6” . You should now have 3 sets, with text showing on both sides. Check to make sure that no side is upside down. In other words, you should be able to read the front and back of each side of pages without turning the page upside down to do so. Place master sheets in the copy machine and either print both sides at one time or; a. Print first side, b. Reinsert newly printed page to be printed again, c. Flip over master to enable side 2 to be printed, d. Print page 2 on back of page 1, make sure text on both sides is not up side down.
When using your computer’s printer to make the entire pamphlet(printing a copy of these instructions before printing pamphlets may be helpful)
Follow Steps “1 – 5” listed above After you have changed the “orientation” to “landscape”;
i. On the print screen, choose “even pages” DO NOT SELECT “ALL PAGES” ii. Choose “Print” iii. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to keep pages pointed in the direction they are in when they came out of the printer. Therefore, it may be a good idea to do colating in the printer's tray, however, any work surface will do. Find pages"2" and "11" . This page MUST be placed on the bottom of the three sheets. Place it face up. iv. Place page "4" and "9" ON TOP OF page "2" and "11". Place it face up also. v. Place page “6” and “7” ON TOP OF page "4" and "9"
Page "2" and "11" on bottom Page "4" and "9" in the middle Page "6" and "7" on top ALL SHEETS MUST BE IN THE SAME DIRECTION IN WHICH THEY CAME OUT OF THE PRINTER
vi. Take all 3 sheets, and place them in the paper feed tray (the place where new paper generally goes). vii. Select “Print” viii. On the print screen, choose “odd pages” viii. Choose “Print” ix. When finished printing, fold down the middle
This new copy can be used as a “master copy” and can be copied in a copy machine.
If you desire to make more than one pamphlet at a time, type in number of desired copies before entering the pages you wish to print. Repeat step “i – viii”.
Some computers are not reading pages "4" and "9" in the above PDF. Therefore, we have added " Pray Group Pamphlet III " as back up. We suggest that before printing the pamphlet, simply scroll through the PDF you have selected. If you notice that any of the six (6) pages on your screen are blank, please select the other PDF. If you are among those having a problem with this issue, we would greatly appreciate it if you could email us at contact@prourladyofemmitsburg.org, so we may pass the info on to the technical team. We apologize for this glitch and thank you for your patience.
